BUILDING A BRAND

Structuring of a brand

Welcome again to our official blog page, where we walk with you to growing your dream brand.
There are a lot of things you might just want to do, a lot of services you want to offer, but how do you narrow them to a channel that your target audience will relate to? That is branding!
You might have a lot of things coming to your mind at the word BRAND, but we have actually written this blog post to give you a definite meaning, answering your question about

  1. What a brand is
  2. The objective of a brand

BRAND?
Do you want to start a brand? Or have a concept or more in your head? Do you not have a concept at all but want to learn what branding is? Then this post is just for you!
A BRAND is a name, design, identity, symbol, message and/ or other features that identifies and distinguishes one entity’s services from another. What makes you stand out from the crowd, like a white head amongst black ones.
A brand is your personality, either as a small business, individual, company or whatever seevice you are offering or your product, even if you are yet to.
As a business, your brand is your promise to your consumer, the way you relate, offer your services, react to consumers. Your brand is like telling the world that you are capable of doing that which you are doing of which they need your services. The message you are passing to them and how you are passing that message.
Simply put your BRAND is who you are and what you promise to do for your audience.
Really, your brand is what people think of you. In business, who you say you are tells people of you, but who they say you are goes the longer way! How have you impacted people, how have you been of help? Have your audience really seen a reason to believe your personality? Have you given to your audience what you promised?
When your audience tells people about you, what do they say? That is who you are!
In a nutshell your BRAND is setup by who you say you are, but is really grown by what your audience thinks of you.
Good news is, if you are just starting your brand focus on these three key things

  1. Build a good brand identity, pick a logo, colors and a structure that resonates with what you are doing
  2. Create a strong brand structure, and your voice – this is what people will reckon with when they see or experience you
  3. Always solidify your first impressions, let customers see the best when they get their first services. Always be ready to apologise, quick to fix issues, and always say thank you, good handshakes with smiles can also go a long way too

OBJECTIVE:
Now you have an introduction to what a BRAND is, and you might probably be having lots of concepts in your head now, we have to talk about the objectives of a BRAND. Leaving this out is like shooting without a target.
Before we proceed you might or should answer the following questions and be honest to yourself:

  1. Do I have a concept or an idea, a product or services to offer?
  2. Can I narrow all I want to do to one channel?
  3. Who are my target audience, and where are they?
  4. How do I want to meet my customers, online?
  5. A BRAND helps you focus on a particular channel, though you might offer a variety of services, but through a particular channel. Google, for an example, a very famous brand with a strong online personality has one channel, through which they do a lot of things, ranging from a search engine, to email to contacts backups and a whole lot.
Your BRAND gives you a focus from which you can diversify
  6. Creates a strong presence for you. Every brand no matter how small, has a customer base, and if you are true to your words, your presence online or offline becomes a strong one, you have that confidence, and that air amongst other brand.
  7. Associating with customers becomes easier. As a BRAND, your customers are able to relate with you, not as an individual, but as a BRAND, some may say, as a small company or firm, and I tell you, a lot of people out there prefer to work with brands rather than individuals.
Good BRAND gives good customer relationship.
  8. People begin to recognise you. Only few people knows you for what you do when you are an individual, but as a BRAND, with an online presence, people begin to know what you do even before you get to know them. Your brand speaks for itself
  9. You get more persons to patronise you. As a brand a lot of people or even other brands would want to work with you and that is one big way to becoming big!
